As a wine publicist and wine industry blogger, I thought I would state my policies on accepting wine samples and full disclosure of clients as they relate to the content of Family, Love, Wine blog.

Wine Submissions Policy

I don’t review wine here, but rather provide information on the wine industry, social media tips, public relations and marketing. If you have a sample and a story that is relevant to my blog content, email me at melissa (dot) dobson (at) avantguild.com. Just keep in mind that the sample will only be used as background and will not be reviewed here. I do occasionally mention a favorite example of a wine as it relates to a post.  I’ve recently participated in a virtual tasting and welcome the opportunity to participate in more of them. I also submit wine tasting notes to Cork’d http://corkd.com/people/MelissaDobson

Full Disclosure of Clients

Because I sometimes work with local wine associations such as Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association and Finger Lakes Wine Alliance, and much of my blog content addresses the  branding of Finger Lakes Wine Country and its wineries, I will include quotes, data and content from these associations as well as other clients if the content is related to the interests of the readers of Family, Love, Wine blog. I will include a short statement disclosing my working relationships with any of my clients.

    I have just started an independent consulting service for my friends in Napa and Sonoma … I share your love of all things wine .. but I have my degree in Hospitality and Tourism … which sounds like you.

    I would love your advise on approaching the Visitors Bureau and the Vintners/Growers Group on behalf of my client.

    My client is WineCountry.com and we are seeking to expand the destination portals in our family….Not to replace anyone’s sites or current marketing but to bring more travelers to your destination.

    My client and I have worked together since 1994 when she started the company and I know that it will help your brand since here traffic is 300K unique visitors monthly, averaging 8 pages per visit.

    Hope you can ‘point’ me in the best direction.
